Best Sellers List – Electric Griddles

Personally, I really love griddles. However, as a large appliance that is built into your kitchen, these can become quite expensive, ranging from a few thousand dollars on up. If you simply don’t have the funds to get a built in griddle or you don’t think that it will give you a good enough ROI if you plan to sell in the future, and you simply want one for your benefit that doesn’t cost a lot, an electric griddle is the way to go. These are small enough to place on your counter, they are electric which means wired and therefore can be put away when not in use, and they cost significantly less than a built in griddle. Overall, they are a fantastic appliance to own. Once you have one you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it! Below, I will be showing you the best selling aka best reviewed electric griddles around. These range from lower budgets $$ to medium budgets $$$. Keep reading down below for some foodie idea for your new griddle.

Oster Griddle

Oster may or may not be a name that you’ve heard of, but they tend to make smaller appliances, like griddles. This one fits right on your countertop and it features a nonstick coating that is 4 times durable that some of those other materials used right now. This is cool because you can use it for years on end and it won’t ever peel or flake. The coating on the griddle is also super easy to clean and take care of and its free of any chemicals. The surface is 10×18 inches. The top part can cook 2 scrambled eggs, 3 pancakes and 7 links of sausage, or if you prefer, 7 pancakes on their own. This one also has a really cool warming tray below the cooking area to keep already cooked foods, warm until you are ready to serve them. This one is quite popular on Amazon, and while a lot of people love different features, the one they like the most is the fact that it heats up quickly and its a large surface area. A few people that DID vote negative, did so because they said the surface scratched because they used a harsh chemical on it. To these people, I say: well Duh! You can’t use harsh cleaners on this item, nor should you be using it on any home griddle. Its meant to be washed using hot water and soap only.

Cuisinart Griddle Elite

Cuisinart is one of those names that is synonymous with the kitchen and kitchen gadgets. This one gives you the option of choosing from either the Deluxe or the Elite version. The deluxe version is cheaper, of course, but it also has different options than the Elite.

Deluxe: 6 cooking options; contact grill, panini press, full griddle, full grill, half grill, top melt. It also has a dual zone temperature control and a sear function – this one can sear at a whopping 500 degrees for 2 minutes at a time. The large grilling space has 240 square inches of open space to cook on. It also has a drip tray, scraping tool, and an instruction/recipe book.

Elite: The Elite version has all of the options above, plus it has a digital display. It might not seem like much, but it can make a significant difference to cooking because it takes all the guess work out of your temperature settings and time settings.

Black And Decker Family Sized Griddle

When you think of the brand BD as a whole, you think of vacuums, but they make a lot of different items, such as this Family Sized Griddle. You can make up to 8 pancakes at a time on this griddle considering its 12×22 inches for the cooking surface. Its also nonstick, it has a drip tray and its incredibly easy to clean. This one does not have a digital display, hence the price difference, but it does have a temperature control option. This one is also really nice because you can lift the “pan” out of the griddles foundation, remove it, and place it in the dishwasher. A lot of the other griddles you can’t do this with because the pan is attached to the foundation. Some people really love the fact that it cooks everything right the first time, but of course, a few people have gripes about this item, just like they do with any item. Thankfully BD is really understanding and their support is always available if you have questions or concerns about the items they sell.

Cuisinart 5 In 1 Griddle

Even though this one is significantly smaller than the options above, it has a ton of positive reviews. One of the main reasons behind that is the simple fact that this is a 5 in 1, which means for every 5 small appliances you own, this one can do all the same cooking as those 5 appliances, in one singular unit. Its a super space saving, money saving unit. The cooking types include; contact grill, panini presser, full griddle, full grill, half grill and half griddle. If you are using it as a grill or even a panini press you can only use one side to cook on. However, for the griddle part, the top lid can actually be bent all the way back to create a full griddle. The full griddle can make 4-6 pieces of bacon depending on the size and 4 eggs or 4 smaller pancakes. This one also comes in either silver with black dials or silver with red dials – admittedly the red dials are cheaper, but I not sure why I actually love the red dials versus the black ones!

Presto 22 Inch Griddle

This is another one with a ton of reviews. Not only that, but its price is pretty low too. This one doesn’t have a lot of the bells and whistles that the Cuisinart do above, however, its made well, its functions perfectly and it does what its intended to do – be a griddle! This one has a 22-inch surface space to cook on, which is a really great size. It also has a nonstick surface, a drip tray, and a master heat control option. The griddle itself is fully immersible in water, if you remove the heat control first, which means it can be washed in a sink or in the dishwasher. Does this one cook paninis? no. Does it cook burgers? Yes. Is it meant for cooking an array of breakfast items? Of course! All in all, this is a really good option if you just want to cook efficiently, quickly and you want your food to taste good!

What Items Can You Cook On A Griddle?

Working in restaurants you also tend to work with different cooking units. One of the items you will almost always find in a restaurant kitchen, especially a restaurant kitchen where they serve sandwiches, sauteed toppings like peppers or onions or breakfast items, is a griddle. Mind you these griddles tend to be much larger, but nonetheless, they do the same thing as the ones above. If you think you might not need a griddle because you wouldn’t use it very much, think again. Here are just a few items you can make on a griddle.

Breakfast Items: Everything from pancakes and french toast to eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage, hash browns, or pretty much any other breakfast food, even crepes!

Lunch / Dinner Items: BLTs, grilled cheese, panini type sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, taco meat, stir fry, any vegetable, steaks, chops, chicken breast, quesadillas, etc.

You can even make specialty foods on these griddles like crab cakes, Naan, pizza, homemade tortillas, Philly cheese steak, Korean BBQ, Tandoori chicken and more. You will be using one of these griddles… a lot!
